ANTI-DISCRIMINATION AMENDMENT BILL 2016 (No. 54)
Second Reading

Mr FINCH (Rosevears) - Mr President, I had the opportunity to make my second reading speech, and I agree with the members for Western Tiers and Murchison.  Members should be afforded the opportunity to conclude this part of the debate and to get their thoughts on record.

I make quite clear that I condemn this amendment bill.  I reiterate:  it is a waste of time.  We are wasting time when we should be getting on with more pressing matters.  We are now asked for an adjournment to waste more time and bring the legislation back when we sit in May.  Let us get on with it.  We are here to make decisions.  Let us make decisions.  This adjournment, phooey.

Mr Dean - That is what people elected us for.  To make decisions.

Mr FINCH - Yes, let us get on with it.  Let us deal with it today.  That is what we are here for so let us not adjourn this.  Let us get it into the committee stage.  If you have an amendment, put it there.  Let us throw that out and get rid of the rubbish.
