Hansard of the Legislative Council
West Tamar Highway - Exeter Upgrade
Mr FINCH (Rosevears) to ACTING LEADER of the GOVERNMENT in the LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL, Mrs HISCUTT
[2.31 p.m.]
I asked a question last week in respect of a truck accident at a corner near the church just north of Exeter. I asked a supplementary question, which I believe the honourable Acting Leader has an answer for.
That question was -
Would the Government consider straightening the road at the bad corner north of Exeter? I realise that becomes costly but taking the dangerous corner out of it would make it safer.
ANSWER
I thank the member for Rosevears for his question.
There are no plans to undertake any major upgrades of the West Tamar Highway in this vicinity. However, the recent crash events will be considered to understand whether the current road design played a role and, if so, whether any improvements are necessary. I will ask the minister's office to keep you informed if there are any updates on this.
