WEST TAMAR CORRIDOR STUDY

Mr FINCH (Question) - Mr President, is the Leader aware of criticism over the public display of the West Tamar corridor study? The study is of great interest in my electorate of Rosevears yet it is only displayed in Riverside and Beaconsfield. Would the Government consider displaying the study at Exeter and perhaps Legana, two other big centres? The cost would be minimal and a wider display would enable more public comment and public knowledge.

Mr AIRD - I thank the honourable member for his question. The results of the West Tamar corridor study are not being displayed at Beaconsfield, actually. Exeter and Riverside have been selected as the most appropriate sites for the display. I will read that again. It says that the results of the West Tamar corridor study are not being displayed in Beaconsfield. Exeter and Riverside have been selected as the most appropriate sites for the display. The display has already been held in Riverside and has now also been in the supermarket at Exeter since 9 October 2004, and will remain there until the evening of Thursday 14 October 2004. Exeter has been chosen in preference to Legana and Beaconsfield, as it is central to the transport routes that are the subject of the study. The staff who are in attendance at the public display have not been advised of any criticism.
